Canvas keeps your grades and your instructor's feedback in one place. Here's how to find your scores, read comments, and view a rubric.

To see your grades for a course:

1. Sign in to Canvas at https://jerseycollege.instructure.com/login/ldap and click the course from your Dashboard.

1. In the course menu, click Grades.

1. You'll see a list of assignments with your scores and the points possible. Assignments that haven't been graded yet may show a dash or a clock icon instead of a score.

To see grades across all your courses:

1. In the left navigation menu, click "Grades" (the global Grades link).

1. Pick a course from the list to view its grade details.

To read your instructor's feedback:

1. On the Grades page, look for a small speech-bubble (comment) icon next to an assignment; that means there's a comment.

1. Click the assignment name or the score to open the submission details.

1. Read any written comments. Some instructors also leave inline notes or annotations directly on your uploaded file; open the submission to view them.

To view a rubric (how the grade was scored):

1. Open the assignment or its submission details from the Grades page.

1. Click "Show Rubric" (or scroll to the rubric section).

1. The rubric lists each item being graded, the points you earned for each, and any criteria-level comments. This shows you exactly where points were given or lost.

To check your overall course grade:

1. On the course Grades page, look for the "Total" at the top or bottom of the list.

1. Note that the total can change as more assignments are graded, and some instructors hide the running total until the end of the term.

Tips:

• A "Show What-If Scores" option may appear, letting you type a possible score to see how it would affect your total. This is only a personal preview; it does not change your real grade.

• A missing or dashed score usually means the work isn't graded yet, not that you scored zero. If something still looks wrong after grading, message your instructor through the Canvas Inbox.

• For your official program grades and transcript, use the Advantage student portal; Canvas grades are course-level and set by your instructor. If you don't have the Advantage link saved, ask the Help Desk for the exact address.
