Screen sharing lets you show your slides, a document, or a website to everyone in a Zoom meeting. This guide shows you how to start sharing, share just one window, share with computer sound, and stop sharing.

Start sharing your screen:

1. In the meeting, click the green Share Screen button at the bottom of the Zoom window.

1. A window opens showing what you can share. To share everything you see, choose Screen (or Desktop), then click Share.

1. Everyone in the meeting now sees your screen. A green border appears around what you're sharing so you know it's live.

Share just one window (recommended):

1. Click Share Screen.

1. Instead of Screen, click the specific window you want to show, such as a single PowerPoint, Word document, or browser window. Then click Share.

1. Only that one window is shared. Anything else on your screen, like email or messages, stays private.

Share with sound (for a video or audio clip):

1. Click Share Screen.

1. Before you click Share, look at the bottom of the share window and turn on Share sound (sometimes shown as a checkbox). This sends your computer's audio to the meeting.

1. Choose the screen or window with your video, then click Share and play your clip.

Stop sharing:

1. Find the toolbar at the top of your screen while sharing (move your mouse to the top if it's hidden).

1. Click the red Stop Share button. Your screen is no longer shared and you return to the normal meeting view.

Helpful tips:

• Sharing a single window instead of your whole screen is the safest choice. It keeps your notifications, emails, and other tabs private.

• Open the document or website you want to show before you click Share, so it's ready to go.

• If you can't see the Share Screen button, the host may have limited who can share. Ask the host to allow participants to share.

• Close pop-ups and turn on Do Not Disturb before sharing so private notifications don't appear in front of the group.

• If others say your shared video has no sound, stop sharing and start again with Share sound turned on.
