Clear your browser cache and cookies (Chrome, Edge, or Firefox)
Last Updated 25 days ago

Clearing your browser's cache (saved temporary files) and cookies (saved site data) is the number one fix when a website won't log you in, keeps loading an old page, or behaves strangely. Find your browser below and follow the steps. The quick shortcut for all three browsers is to press Ctrl + Shift + Delete to open the "Clear browsing data" window.

Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete on your keyboard. (Or click the three dots in the top-right corner, then "Delete browsing data.")
  3. At the top, set the Time range to "All time."
  4. Check the boxes for "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files."
  5. Click "Delete data."
  6. Close Chrome completely and reopen it, then try the website again.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Edge.
  2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete on your keyboard. (Or click the three dots in the top-right corner, then Settings, then "Privacy, search, and services," then under "Clear browsing data" click "Choose what to clear.")
  3. Set the Time range to "All time."
  4. Check the boxes for "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files."
  5. Click "Clear now."
  6. Close Edge completely and reopen it, then try the website again.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete on your keyboard. (Or click the three lines in the top-right corner, then Settings, then "Privacy & Security," then scroll to "Cookies and Site Data" and click "Clear Data.")
  3. Set the time range to "Everything."
  4. Check the boxes for "Cookies and Site Data" and "Temporary cached files and pages" (also called "Cached Web Content").
  5. Click "Clear" (or "Clear Now") and confirm.
  6. Close Firefox completely and reopen it, then try the website again.

Tips

  • Clearing cookies will sign you out of most websites, so have your usernames and passwords handy before you start.
  • Leave "Passwords" and "Autofill form data" unchecked if you do not want to erase your saved logins.
  • Your Jersey College username is firstname.lastname (no @jerseycollege.edu), and your full email is firstname.lastname@jerseycollege.edu. If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it at https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/?whr=jerseycollege.edu.
  • After clearing, give a page like Canvas or Outlook a few seconds to load fresh the first time.

If you're still having trouble, contact the Jersey College Help Desk at 201-645-1164 or itsupport@jerseycollege.edu.
