Frequently Asked Question

EAQ (Elsevier Adaptive Quizzing) is a study and quizzing tool from Elsevier that you open through your Canvas course. You do not sign in to a separate EAQ website on your own - you launch it from the EAQ assignment inside Canvas.

How to open an EAQ assignment:

1. Sign in to Canvas at https://jerseycollege.instructure.com/login/ldap
2. Open your course and go to the Assignment or Module where the EAQ activity is.
3. Click the EAQ assignment link. It opens Elsevier's EAQ.
4. The first time, you may be asked to confirm your Elsevier/Evolve account or register the course - follow the on-screen prompts. If you're asked for an access code or course information, use what your instructor provided.
5. Once it loads, complete your quizzing as assigned. Your work flows back to your Canvas course.

If EAQ won't open or shows an error:

1. Use an up-to-date Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser - these work best.
2. Allow pop-ups for the site (see "Allow or block pop-ups and manage camera/microphone permissions for a site").
3. Clear your browser cache and cookies, then sign back in to Canvas and try again (see "Clear your browser cache and cookies").
4. Try a different browser or device to see if the problem follows you.
5. If it still won't open, contact your instructor (it may be an enrollment or assignment-setup issue) or the Help Desk.
