Frequently Asked Question
How do I upload (sync) my Examplify answer file after I finish my exam, and confirm it uploaded?
Last Updated 25 days ago
Finishing the questions is not the last step. Examplify saves your answers in a file on your laptop, and that file must upload to ExamSoft. Your exam is not truly turned in until you see the green "uploaded" confirmation.
How uploading works:
- When you reach the end of the exam, follow the prompts to finish and submit. Examplify will usually ask you to confirm you're done.
- After you confirm, Examplify tries to upload your answer file automatically. Stay connected to the internet and keep your laptop on and plugged in.
- Wait for the screen that says your exam has been uploaded. You're looking for a clear confirmation, often shown with a GREEN checkmark next to the exam.
- Do not close the lid, shut down, or quit Examplify until you see that green "uploaded" status.
If it doesn't upload right away:
- Check your Wi-Fi. Reconnect to a strong network if your connection dropped.
- In your exam list, the exam may show a yellow or different colored status meaning "not yet uploaded." Click the exam and choose Upload (or Resume Upload) to try again.
- Give it a minute on good Wi-Fi. Large files can take a little time.
- Once it succeeds, the status turns green and says uploaded.
How to confirm you're done:
- Look for the green checkmark or an "Uploaded" message next to your exam in the Examplify list.
- If your instructor mentions a confirmation email or notification, watch for that too, but the green status in Examplify is your main proof.
Tips and warnings:
- Never delete the exam from Examplify until you've confirmed it uploaded. The file on your laptop is your backup.
- If you finished but had to leave, you can usually reconnect to Wi-Fi later and let it finish uploading, but do this as soon as possible.
- If the upload keeps failing, see the troubleshooting article and contact the Help Desk and your exam coordinator promptly so your work isn't counted late.
